Wanneroo Wheeled Sports Facility 2016, Western Australia
Featuring Perth’s deepest bowl, with a depth of 3 metres , the Wanneroo Wheeled Sports Facility offers challenging opportunities for medium to advanced level skateboarders.
We provided design verification as well as skatepark construction on this project. We were able to adapt the design to optimise the positioning of obstacles, ensure drainage flowed correctly, and avoid disturbing the nearby road reserve — all while ensuring the park was constructed to time and budget in a safe manner.
The City of Wanneroo, were impressed by our adaptability, safety and quality management systems. We built strong rapport with City staff, who regularly visited the site, allowing us to understand the needs of the community and enhance the skatepark wherever possible to meet those needs. Through these chats we were asked to redo the seating around the park as well as design a safety ladder to complement the massive bowl.
